Jeff LazarusJeffrey Lazarus, MD, FAAP, is a California pediatrician who trained at Stanford University Medical Center. He practiced general pediatrics for 27 years and has sub-specialized for the past 18 years in the use of medical hypnosis for children, adolescents, and adults, with various common health conditions. Internationally recognized for his engaging speaking style, Dr. Lazarus has lectured in Italy, Canada, Ireland, France, Germany, Slovenia, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates. He is an expert in the practical use of medical hypnosis for the treatment of headaches, nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting), gastrointestinal conditions, and tics (with and without Tourette syndrome). He has published articles and chapters on these topics and is the creator of Keeping the Bed Dry®, a comprehensive home video program that incorporates medical hypnosis to help children and adolescents with bedwetting. He is an Approved Consultant with the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis and has been a faculty member of the U.S. National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute since 2014. He is also a member of the International Society of Hypnosis and the European Society of Hypnosis. He is currently involved in pediatric hypnosis research projects at 2 different major children’s hospitals: one using his program, “Keeping The Bed Dry©” (2013), for patients with bedwetting, and the other using his program, “Controlling Your Gut Feelings©”(2017), for patients with irritable bowel syndrome and functional abdominal pain. For the past eight years, Dr. Lazarus has trained with David Burns, MD, a Stanford Adjunct Clinical Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, School of Medicine, and an internationally recognized pioneer of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) who has developed the 4th iteration of CBT, called TEAM. As a teaching assistant and a Level 3 TEAM-CBT Trainer with Dr. Burns for the past three years, Dr. Lazarus presents at the annual conference about the use of hypnosis and TEAM-CBT with pediatric patients. |
