Lisa LombardDr. Lisa Lombard, a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice In Chicago, IL, has integrated hypnosis, mindfulness, and psychotherapy in her work with children, teens, and families coping with stress mediated health concerns (with special interest in anxiety and pain management), self-regulation, and chronic health conditions such as Functional Abdominal Pain, headaches, IBS, and food allergies/asthma. For over 25 years she has provided these services in various settings (inpatient units and outpatient clinics, a community mental health center, and a university-based outpatient clinic). She has supervised graduate psychology students in these programs, and continues to be a site supervisor/director of training for diagnostic and psychotherapy trainees, as a psychological consultant to an independent elementary school in Chicago. Dr. Lombard also provides school-based consultation to educators and students, on topics such as mindfulness-based practices and self-regulation in young children, at the Frances Xavier Warde School in Chicago. She is a regular guest speaker for the Food Allergy Support and Education (FASE) program at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. She is involved in research at the Center for Community Health (Food Allergies and Psychosocial Factors) at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She has also been an Associate Professor at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (Child and Adolescent Track, Clinical Psychology). There she developed and taught courses on psychological evaluation (cognitive processes, personality and psychopathology, executive functioning, etc.), psychotherapy, and the uses of pediatric hypnosis. Dr. Lombard’s research and publication record includes several years as a member of Erika Fromm’s Self Hypnosis Lab at the University of Chicago, and more recently, exploratory investigations of school readiness and resiliency factors in preschool-age children. She began integrating hypnosis with patients in 2000 and has been a faculty member with NPHTI since 2014. She also teaches with the Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH) and is an ASCH Approved Consultant. Dr. Lombard currently serves as Clinical Section Head , Illinois Psychological Association and is President of the Chicago Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology/Human Development from the University of Chicago and completed an externship training at Michael Reese Hospital and an internship at the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute in Chicago. |
