Comfort Kits for Children, an initiative led by Dr. Lisa Lombard (NPHTI faculty member and Board President) with assistance from Dr. Bob Deutsch (advisor to NPHTI project and emeritus faculty member), was mentioned on the APA's "Hot List" -- a list of resources, opportunities, and news for psychologists published monthly by the APA on their website and in their publication Monitor on Psychology

Dr. Jody Thomas shares strategies to help kids who are nervous about getting vaccinated

NPHTI faculty member Jody Thomas, PhD, was featured on CBS News to share strategies for easing kids' vaccine fears. "Pain is not just about the needle going in, it's about the anxiety," she says. Giving children choices, such as which arm the shot will go into, can make them feel more comfortable with the vaccine. Watch the full segment here

In this podcast episode, Dr. Lombard describes the medical applications of hypnotherapy for managing stress, minimizing burnout, and mitigating stress-related skin conditions.
